Fernandina Beach is located in the far Northeast corner of Florida on Amelia Island along the Atlantic Coast. Amelia Island is the only United States location to have had eight flags including French, Spanish, English, Patriots of 1812, Green Cross of Florida, Mexican Revolutionary Flag of 1817, National flag of the Confederacy, and finally, the United States 1821 through the present. The downtown Fernandina Beach area hosts an Annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival to honor the city’s unique history.
