Cocoa is located on Space Coast of Florida. This community began as a fishing community since there is the fresh water fishing of Indian River and the deep sea fishing of The Atlantic Ocean. The town has grown since its fishing village beginnings to become a beautiful residential, resort style community. Cocoa houses the University of Central Florida’s Cocoa Campus and is home to Kel-Tec (the largest manufacturer of pistols in the country). Transportation in Cocoa is easy, 1-95 and the famous A1A run through this community. The Inter-coastal Waterways of the Indian River are traveled by the Indian River Queen, a triple deck paddle boat. Cocoa is home to a multitude of bird species. Every December, the town has its “Christmas Bird Count” to keep track of the bird species within the ecosystem.
